    Business.
    Many seniors are far from their families and just need someone to talk to .... they read (a book or) a newspaper, talk to them, they say throughout the day. Playing cards. In this time of year to send Christmas cards and may need assistance in the fight against the envelopes. Some of them like to go, but can not not go alone with them.

    Check with your supervisor at the nursing home. I'm sure it will be a "project" or two have in mind for you.

    Sometimes volunteers are needed to make a trade or business secrets, or the art of singing songs with the residents or placed in a program.
    The key is to visit the residents. I have a training session with a student there one day and one of the residents just wanted to talk and talk and show his talents from his family. There were some very cute toys they had given him and I just wanted to share it with anyone and the staff do not always have time to sit and visit.

    Read books, letters, and so on. Write letters. Fellowship.
    In addition, if allowed, have many difficulties in eating and a voluntary patient is more convincing than a nurse or deferred.

    The companies have small children, the time to talk and spend time with the elderly, is more demanding.
    Rest is all on the campus.
